BT Launches Its First 3D, Virtual Reality World
Built by Worlds.com

First Phase of Revenue Sharing Agreement Signed Last Fall

Stamford, CT, February 20, 2001 - British Telecom (NYSE: BTY) has launched its first three-dimension (3D), virtual reality Internet site, provided by Worlds.com (OTC//BB: WDDD) as part of the companies' revenue sharing agreement signed last fall.

The site, BTopenworlds by Worlds.com, will be accessible initially on the BT Openworld broadband channel and later released on the BT Internet channel. It will provide a 3D experience, with proprietary, customizable avatars. As part of the offering, BTopenworlds' users will also be able to download the rest of the rich Worlds.com environments. The companies will share continuing revenues.

"With the opening of BTopenworlds on the heels of our recent announcements," said Steven G. Chrust, chairman, "we are building a solid base of revenue-sharing partnerships with highly visible and extremely successful marketing organizations."

BTopenworlds by Worlds.com will feature four zones:

  • BTopenworlds portal - A domed gateway to the other worlds as well as a central meeting place with an Avatar Gallery and access to web content on general information
  • Garden of Tranquility - A peaceful, beautiful English garden and courtyard, with access to content-related to Alternative/New Age thought, Food, Music and Art. This garden also features a replica of the Hampton Court maze, offering users the challenge to find the plinth in the center.
  • Cyberparliament - Users can gravitate to the center of the world and view and discuss universal issues in politics, current events and the news.
  • Big Time - A dramatic pyramid where users can congregate, view, listen and chat about the latest music and videos.

In recent weeks, Worlds.com has also announced a revenue sharing agreement with Aerosmith, an international, best selling pop music group for the past two decades. For Aerosmith, which has sold more than 100 million albums, Worlds.com will create and host a 3D, virtual reality site where fans can chat and purchase Aerosmith-related items.

"Our strategy continues to involve partnering with highly visible marketing organizations," said Chrust. "These agreements provide both access to user bases for shared revenue and as a forum to promote the robust and interactive environment that 3D on the Internet provides."
